Kyle Williams was born on June 10, 1983, in Ruston, Louisiana. His full name is Kyle Derrick Williams. He is the son of his father, Kenneth Williams, and his mother, Karen Williams.

In his early life, he went to Ruston High School in the Lincoln Parish School District of Ruston, Louisiana. From the beginning of his career, he started to show his talent in the field of football. As a senior at the school, he was named the 5A Louisiana Defensive MVP after recording 78 tackles, 17 for losses, and seven sacks.

He finished his college life at Louisiana State University (LSU) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was a member of his college team, the LSU Tigers football program, during his studies at this college. From 2002 to 2005, he attended this college. As a senior at the college, he recorded 61 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks and was named first-team All-American and second-team All-American.
